Marie’s family dog Bailey had a health scare recently. She’s a 13 year old Springer Spaniel, and now lives a quiet life, the madness of her youth now limited by age and arthritis. She had an issue with her back legs a couple of weeks ago and the vets gave us a warning that given her age and general health, investigating and treating any issues might not be in her best interest.
Thankfully after a period of rest, painkillers, anti-inflammatories she has made a solid recovery. She wasn’t happy about being banned from and a ban from going upstairs, where the best sleeping spot is, but it gave her back and legs a rest for a while. She’s still moving slowly, as she is entitled to at her age, but she is once again happy in herself, wagging her tail and coming for tummy rubs.
Quality of life is all we ask at this point, and it was lovely to visit and see her being more herself.
